Have you ever thought about growing pumpkins or fresh zucchini but feel
hesitant? Fear not – squash is easier to grow than you think!
Before starting to grow your own squash, decide whether you
prefer summer squash or winter squash. Summer squash,
like zucchini and yellow squash, have soft, edible skins that
are harvested during the summer months, while winter
squash requires a longer growth period.
These varieties, which are harvested during the fall, have
hard, thick skins – think acorn squash and pumpkins.
