laugh at them. Once Caroline is on stage it's crystal clear that

called from the road and asked my nephew what he and his
friends did for that big night. His answer was "I went to dinner
with my parents, Grandma and Nanny. Then we had the cere-
mony, after we stayed at school all night, played video games
and I almost won a laptop"! All I could say was "that's it, that's
what y'all did?" That's so sad. He was silent for a minute and
then he asked me, "well what did y'all do in 1969, being very
sarcastic, because you know, I’m old!" What did WE DO! Well
after our ceremony we went to our Graduation Dance until 4
am, then we went home, changed into shorts, pooled our Grad-
uation money, bought 25 cases of beer, and piled into pickup
trucks, some actually rode in the back of the truck, because we
