he Island is a powerhouse for local LIVE music
boasting performers with hard-hitting backgrounds, a
diverse repertoire and a friendly interactive approach
to all who enjoy their music. One of the popular live
music environments is that of solo acoustic shows
T featuring the Islands best Guitar Players/Vocalists.

None fit the bill better than Island Legend, Geoff Fish. Islanders
associate this recognizable name to a “larger than life” performer
whom succeeds in satisfying the masses with an unlimited collection
of tunes from most genres; all while remaining humble and a hell of
a nice guy. However, it is behind the scenes that make Geoff really
stand out.

By day, Geoff works as a Microbiologist/Laboratory Scientist for
the University of Texas Medical Branch. As a 26-year veteran in the
medical field, he is excited about retirement, although his live music
performances will continue. The Island will likely see more of Geoff
after retirement as he will have time to catch up on 26-years of limit-
ed sleep!

His true passion is his family. His wife Trish, daughter Tianna and
son Evan can often be seen at his shows supporting the local music
scene as well as businesses throughout the Island. Meet them once
and you will immediately know that the Fish family are genuinely
good folks.

So, what makes Geoff one of the “front-runners” in the
Acoustic performers’ presence on the Island?

The longevity of Geoff ’s music career coupled with the number of
shows he performs at any given time is reason enough. The number
of loyal fans on and off the Island that consistently fill the seats of
venues where Geoff performs is another reason. The most plausible
reason is that Geoff serves as a mentor to some, a friend to most,
and a genuine inspiration to all that have been lucky enough to shake
his hand. He has earned his place on the stages of Galveston Island.
