he 66th annual NibroC Festival will be held Au-
gust 9-11 in downtown Corbin.
Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce
tdirector bruce Carpenter, who is responsible for
organizing the event, said it would be similar to 2017.
Vendors will again be located on Main Street. After
several of the Main Street business owners expressed
their concerns about the decision to relocate the festival
back to Main Street, an agreement was reached to have
the vendors set up in the middle of the street to keep the
storefronts visible to the crowd.
in addition, this will permit the businesses to use the
sidewalks in front of the stores to hold “sidewalk sales.”
“i think things worked out very well last year, and it
generated some more excitement for the festival,” Carpen-
ter said. “Many of the businesses downtown seemed to do
pretty well, and i know our vendors were positive about it.”
Carpenter said 65 vendors, featuring food, crafts and
other items, were set up in 2017.
“We may, right now, be just a little bit ahead of that,”
Carpenter said explaining that several more applications
have recently arrived.
Paradise Amusements will again be providing the car-
nival rides
the carnival crews will begin setting up the rides and
vendors will begin setting up their booths Wednesday
morning with the carnival opening at 6 p.m.
the festival will be open at noon thursday, Friday and
Saturday and remain open until 10 or 11:30 p.m.
Aron Bunch, lead singer and rhythm for the band
County Wide, performs. The band will be back to the
