fish every other cast. Hunter and Connor were catching
good fish as well. I decided to go about thigh deep and
see if I could get any big bites on the top piece. I caught
one or two fish immediately but nothing too special. Not
long after that I caught a massive trout going 28” and
just over 7.5lbs. These were tournament trout! We could
not get good measurements on most of them because
we wanted to release the fish as quickly as possible. We
caught a couple more fish throughout the evening, but
the hot bite was from sundown until about 2 hours into
                                                                  darkness.

veston Bay. The week before Christmas, my
buddies Hunter Osina, Connor Craft and
DCameron Craft and I ventured out for some
night wading. We launched late on a Saturday afternoon
around 4:30 and started fishing around 5. When we pulled
up to the first spot there was a lot of bait, maybe even too
much bait, but we decided to give it a go. Fifteen minutes
into the wade we started catching fish. We got most of
our bites about waist deep. We caught huge trout on most-
ly corkys and some top water lures. We had numerous fish
from the 24” to the 26” range with one going just shy of
7lbs. We hopped around our favorite holes and several
new spots and caught several more decent fish. They
disappeared after midnight, so we decided to call it a night.
All fish were safely released to swim another day. It’s
much more satisfying to release them, knowing they will
be even bigger the next time I reel them in.

On the eve of Christmas Eve, we decided to get out a
little earlier to catch the evening bite. Back out in far West
Bay, we jumped out of the boat around 4:30 and started
catching fish right off the bat. We didn’t stick anything big
for the first hour or so, but after that we were on them. Find Max Online @
