the fog so heavy, it was hard to see boats approaching or for
them to know we were there. After an hour of fishing deep, one
boat, traveling about 40mph approached within 50 yards so we
moved to shallow fishing again. There were decent fish for win-

ooler temps are here! When the air and water
temperature drops, the trout go into ‘gorge
mode.’ But don’t be discouraged! I like to
throw a 6’6 to 6’9 rod, medium action with a
fast tip - just my preference. I use 20” braid with a 30lb leader
so not to worry with retying after catching only a few. Most oth-
ers fishing these conditions will use a heavier action rod to throw
bigger baits. With the water cooling down substantially this time Merry Christmas and
of year, the bigger fish tend to eat bigger bait, so I’ll throw Corky best wishes on the
fatboys, soft-dines and devils. But if the catch slows down, I’ll
throw Down South Lures – bone diamonds water in
and LaRues – salt sassy. December!

This past week, during Thanksgiving break,
I traveled to Sargent to fish with my good
buddy, Hunter Osina. His family has a
home there and we often spend a few days
wading his hot spots. The fog was terrible,
very little visibility and there was zero wind.
It took us a while to get across the bay. We
ran into some difficulties but eventually found a shoreline to
ourselves and grinded it out for the day. I mostly stayed shallow Find Max Online @
while throwing Fatboys and Softdines. I only snagged a few www.facebook.com/max.conner.395
trout so ventured to a deeper wade. At waist-deep we started
catching the keepers. Mostly 20” to 25” but no monsters. With Instagram: maxconnerfishing
