            Recreational Parks & Activities






              he city of Floresville is abundant with
              recreational parks for residents and visitors
         T alike. Picnickers, bikers, and hikers daily take
         advantage of what the city’s parks have to offer.
           River Park, situated along the winding San Antonio
         River, has many opportunities for outdoor activities,
         including baseball and soccer fields, a volleyball court,
         two covered pavilions, playgrounds, and the city pool,
         a Junior Olympic-sized pool with 3-meter and 1-meter
         diving boards. The pool area features outside showers,
         patio furniture, shaded areas, and vending machines for
         snacks. One feature in the park is the Floresville Lions
         Club William “Bill” Smith Kiddie Park which includes
         swings and playscape.
           Pecan Park, aptly named for its numerous pecan trees
         providing plenty of shade, features a paved walking
         track and a delightful playscape, provided through
         a generous donation from the local MOMS Club.    Pecan Park
         At almost any time of day, the park is occupied with
         walkers and joggers, and families enjoying
         the picnic tables and playground.
           Old Town Lodi Hike & Bike Trail, a
         2.9-mile hiking trail, follows the route   Floresville

         the trail is the “Red Bridge,” which once
         crossed the San Antonio River on Labatt
         Road. It now crosses over the Seguin             ➋
         Branch, allowing hikers to easily continue
         along the trail. Lodi marks the beginning
         of the El Camino del Cibolo Historic                                                               ➌
         Trail, which stretches across Wilson
         County, ending at the Wilson/Guadalupe
         County line.
           Canta Rana Park, on Goliad Road,
         is a relatively new 8-acre park offering
         nearby residents a shady picnic spot
         with concrete picnic tables and a small

           American Legion Park, located in
         downtown Floresville, offers two well-lit
         tennis courts and full-sized basketball
         courts.                               ➏
           Floresville Masonic Youth Park, given
         to the city through a generous donation                          ➎
         from the Floresville Masons, features
         full-size soccer fields complete with
         bleachers and restrooms.
