Hours of Operation
e Galvestonians are proud of our reputation 6:00am to Midnight | 7 Days a Week
of being a family friendly vacation destination.
W Families come in all sizes and budgets and many
visitors simply cannot afford to eat every meal in a full ser-
vice restaurant. For large families, even fast food outlets can
be expensive. Fortunately, some fine alternatives are available.
Arlan’s Market, a part of a small family owned Southeast
Texas chain, is conveniently located on the corner of Uni-
versity Drive and Market Street across from the sprawling
UTMB campus and close to the beaches and downtown.
Headquartered in nearby Seabrook, it was founded by Ames
Arlan who remains as the company president and is assisted
by his son Nick and Nick’s wife Karen. Many of their em-
ployees have been with the company since its inception.
Arlan’s prides itself in providing its customers with excellent
service and products. They are staffed with helpful, friendly
and courteous employees that lend a small store feeling not
found in the large chain stores. One of their features is their
well provisioned delicatessen which brings us to the point of
this article.
Here you will find a large array of top quality Boars Head
meats, cheeses, prepared salads and sandwiches and pre-
cooked items such as ribs and fried chicken. Their in house
fried chicken has quite a following among island residents.
For under ten dollars you get a freshly cooked 8 piece box.
Couple that with a couple of salads and a soft drink and you Arlan’s Market
have a delicious hot meal for a family of four for less than 513 Market Street
$20.00. But there is more than just fried chicken. You can get Galveston, Texas 77550
rotisserie chicken, barbecue ribs and much more. 409-765-9355
