ost of Galveston’s tourist attractions and
history are located near the harbor and the
downtown Strand and beach areas. We tend
to forget this island extends far to the West
Mand there are many residents and visitors be-
yond the end of the seawall. Even with a growing population
there are relatively few restaurants in the West end.

A very welcome addition to Jamaica Beach is the recent open-
ing of the Way West Grill & Pizzeria. Located at the site of
the former Blue Water Grill in a small strip center on FM 3005,
this restaurant has created quite a stir in this small community.
Cindy Roberts is an Oklahoma transplant who formerly oper-
ated a popular food truck in Jamaica Beach. When the former
Blue Water location became available and with encouragement
from her friends and family, she took the leap and moved her
food truck business to the new restaurant. After a quick make-
over she was open for business to an enthusiastic clientele.
Keeping the popular pizza entrees from the former owner and
adding unique items from her food truck has created an exten-
sive and varied menu. In addition to the pizza, sandwich and
burger offerings, she has added some Mexican dishes, salads
and her unusual Texas Style Poutines. Way West Grill & Pizzeria

One unique and very delicious item is her empanadas. These 16708 Termini San Luis Pass Road
