June was a stellar month for fishing. Usually this time of
year is when the surf gets perfect to trout fish, but we
didn’t get a whole lot of windows to do so. But, when-
ever it did get good, we took advantage of it.

We had a good two-day window mid-June and smashed
the fish, day and night. We caught most of the bigger
fish when it got dark. We caught them from when we
walked in until we walked out. However, when the winds
started blowing, I was tucked in somewhere on the south
shoreline trout fishing. Galveston has been very steady
          on quality trout.

I made a trip down to Port O’Connor to meet up with
some buddies to fish a tournament in June. We pre-
fished for two days and it was an awesome trip. We had
as many 2-5lb fish as you could catch. The day of the
tournament, it was a bit of a grind for quality fish, but
as soon as 11AM rolled around we got on the fish. It
was a 5 trout, 3 redfish stringer and we finished with
35.05lbs. We won 1st place trout, 2nd place redfish, 3rd
place combined stringer and combined trout stringer.
